Plastic pallets
Plastic pallets for Southampton operations
Where pallets are washed down, reused hundreds of times or fed through automated handling, plastic makes sense. We supply plastic pallets to food, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and distribution sites across Southampton, the docks area and the wider Solent.
Where plastic earns its place
Plastic pallets hold their shape, do not splinter and can be washed, which makes them well suited to hygiene-sensitive environments and closed-loop operations where the same pallets circulate between fixed sites. They also come back the same size every time, which matters when conveyors, wrappers or racking are unforgiving.
They cost more up front than timber, so they pay off through reuse rather than on the first trip. Tell us how the pallets move around your operation and we will be honest about whether plastic or timber fits better.
- Easy to clean for food, pharmaceutical and washdown environments
- Consistent dimensions for automated handling and tight racking
- Long service life in closed-loop, site-to-site operations
- Nestable and rackable options depending on how you store them
Not sure which way to go? Compare used wooden pallets and new timber pallets, see the Southampton and Hampshire areas we cover, or send us the details and we will advise.
Plastic pallet questions
- When is a plastic pallet worth the extra cost?
- Usually when pallets stay within your own operation and get used many times, when hygiene or washdown matters, or when automated handling needs the same dimensions every single time. For one-way outbound loads, timber is normally the sensible choice.
- Can plastic pallets be used for export?
- Plastic pallets are not subject to the timber treatment rules that apply to wooden pallets, but destination and carrier requirements still vary. Tell us where the load is going and what you have been asked for, and we will confirm what we can supply.
- Do you take plastic pallets back?
- Talk to us about the type, quantity, condition and location. Where plastic pallets are still reusable we may be able to buy them; where they are not, we can discuss recovery options with you.
